CJFE Takes Memberships and Donations Online

Wednesday, May 15, 2002
Supporters of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) can now give online using the services of Charity.ca, Canada's first charity portal. Visitors to the CJFE Web site at www.cjfe.org can join the organization and make a donation quickly, easily and safely. By simply clicking on the "Join CJFE" icon, you will be taken to a page that allows for secure transactions. "CJFE has teamed up with charity.ca in order to allow Canadians interested in our work to support us financially through a safe and easy-to-use Internet option," said CJFE Program Co-ordinator David Cozac. "The financial support of contributors is crucial to CJFE's free-expression work in Canada and around the world. We hope that, with this feature available on the CJFE Web site, more people will be encouraged to join and to donate." A portion of the membership fee and donation to CJFE goes toward the Journalists in Distress Fund, which comes to the aid of persecuted journalists around the world. Other CJFE activities include training programs in the developing world and free-expression advocacy domestically and internationally. CJFE is an association of journalists, writers, editors, producers and others who work to defend and promote free expression in Canada and around the world. For further information, please contact David Cozac at CJFE, Tel 416 515 9622, Fax 416 515 7879, email: cozac@cjfe.org.
