On February 13, CJFE launched a Crowdfunding Campaign for our annual Review of Free Expression in Canada. The campaign runs until March 27, and with 37 days left to go, we want to keep our supporters up to date on our Review in the making. We will be posting weekly status updates to give you a behind the scenes look into the progress of our annual Review. And even though we’re only six days into the campaign, we already have a milestone worth celebrating. With the help of more than 20 donors, CJFE has raised 48 percent of our $5,000 goal. We are thrilled and grateful for the amount of support we’ve received this early in the Review’s development, and every dollar will go a long way. YOU can help CJFE build on this momentum. We invite you to donate through our crowdfunding page, and then spread the word on social media. Tell others about your contribution and encourage them to give what they can. There are many ways to show your support for CJFE and its annual Review, and the impact of your contribution goes well beyond the dollar value of your donation. Last week, we passed our first publication deadline, and half of the Review’s articles (on such important topics as the silencing of Canadian scientists, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the lack of protection for Canadian whistleblowers) are already in to one of our tireless editors, Cara Smusiak. She’s working hard to get those stories edited, and our staff and volunteers continue to press on at making sure the fifth annual Review is our best one yet. Check in next week for another update on how your support is helping CJFE defend the freedom of expression in Canada. Sincerely, Tom Henheffer CJFE Executive Director Having trouble seeing the campaign image below? Click here.
