Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) is holding a full-day, hands-on workshop highlighting practical ways to strengthen digital security for both individuals and organizations. We are currently seeking applications for participation. The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 15.
The training will help to ensure that journalists and human rights workers have the knowledge and tools required to use communication and storage tools securely, facilitating the crucial public interest work that they perform in Canadian civil society.
We have a great group of trainers lined up to join us, including Florencia Herra-Vega, Lex Gill from CCLA, Olivia Martin from Freedom of the Press Foundation, and Sukhbir Singh from the Tor Project, among others. We will be covering a variety of topics, including threat modelling, the targeting of social movements, encrypted messaging, mobile security for Android and iOS, and secure web browsing for risky research.
This workshop is made possible by a grant from CIRA’s Community Investment Program.
