Over 80 days imprisoned: Time to #FreeAJstaff (infographic)
By Alexandra Theodorakidis
Three Al Jazeera English journalists jailed in Egypt return to trial on March 24, 2014. Canadian-Egyptian Mohamed Fahmy, Australian Peter Greste and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were arrested on December 29, 2013. They have been charged with spreading false news, belonging to a terrorist group and operating without a permit. Al Jazeera vehemently refutes the allegations against these journalists and has been working with CJFE to advocate for their release.
March 24 will mark the third court appearance for the imprisoned journalists. As we pass the 80-day mark of their imprisonment, CJFE has created an infographic to help break down the key facts and dates about their case, along with relevant statistics.
