Anne Game appointed Executive Director of CJFE

September 27, 2006

Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Game as its new Executive Director.

Anne comes to CJFE with twenty years experience in international development work, social justice and human rights. She is also a freelance writer and commentator.

As a former director at War Child Canada, Canada World Youth, Save the Children and the International Program of the YMCA of Montreal she has a wealth of strategic and operational management experience. She has worked with diverse communities, including youth and volunteers across Canada, and has worked with partners in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

"We recognised in Anne somebody whose skills and knowledge would be a wonderful fit for CJFE," said CJFE President Arnold Amber. "We're delighted to have her take over the vital role of leading both CJFE and the International Freedom of Expression eXchange (IFEX) Clearing House."

Anne Game assumes the Executive Director position on Monday October 2, 2006.

CJFE defends the rights of journalists and contributes to the development of media freedom throughout the world. IFEX is a network of 72 organisations worldwide that promotes and defends the right to free expression. The IFEX Clearing House has been managed by CJFE since its founding in 1992.
