Leaks, Lies & Liability: Panelists debate journalists' protection of anonymous sources Presented by Canadian Journalists for Free ExpressionTORONTO, ON, March 1, 2007 - Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE)and The Walrus will present a debate about the right of journalists to protect anonymous sources on Thursday, March 8, 2007, in celebration of Freedom to Read Week. The debate, titled Leaks, Lies & Liability has a stellar line-up of journalism and legal experts and will be mediated by Walrus editor Ken Alexander. Come see investigative journalist and author of "Hear no Evil, Write no Lies" Andrew Mitrovica, media law expert Brian MacLeod Rogers, investigative journalist Marci McDonald and journalist and Chair of the School of Journalism at Ryerson University Paul Knox discuss the relationship of journalists with their anonymous sources. They will look at the dangers, the laws and the rights and responsibilities surrounding this controversial issue. WHAT: Leaks, Lies & Liability, a debate about journalists and anonymous sources.
