Toronto - August 11, 2008 - Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE), Hot Docs and The Walrus present "An
Independent Mind", a documentary by Rex Bloomstein's. The film explores the state of
freedom of expression around the world in 2008, the 60th anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, which protects freedom of expression under Article 19.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion on the limitations of freedom
of expression.
"An Independent Mind" interviews people from diverse walks of life who have faced
oppression and censorship for expressing unpopular or radical opinions. The interviewees
