Present a Benefit Screening/International Premiere
Of Willing Mind Productions' "So Far From Home"

(Toronto, September 17, 2009) - Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) and Sheridan College present a benefit screening/international premiere of "So Far From Home," a documentary produced by Willing Mind Productions - and made possible by OMNI 's Independent Producers Initiative -- that offers a unique window into the challenges and dangers faced by five journalists from regions of major conflict.

"So Far From Home" provides a rare, firsthand look at the perils of reporting from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iran, Pakistan and Uganda -- followed by a moderated panel discussion with the journalists themselves:

These journalists worked without a safety net; they had no international media organisation to rescue them when their reporting led to threats by factions or governments who did not want these stories told. "So Far From Home" will make its world television premiere, Sunday, September 27th at 9PM ET on OMNI.1.
