Synopsis:
In the remote village of Uljanovsk, Russia, journalist Andrej Shkolni leaves his job at The Leninist to cover local stories in Our Newspaper. Some readers enjoy it for the horoscopes, some for the amusing stories about their neighbours and some just for the TV listings. But when his paper delves into more serious issues, like the lack of water supply to their village and the contamination of the nearby river, the Russian authorities begin to take notice and threaten to shut down his operation.

THE CONSCIOUS ACTIVISM DOC SERIES is a showcase of documentary films for the curious and the concerned. Born of a desire to address injustice, each of these films is a call to action and an affirmation of the tenacity, complexity and courage of the human condition. Enjoy and explore the relationship between social justice, spirit and activism.
