Join Canadian Journalists for Free Expression at Ryerson University's conference, Press Freedom in Canada: A status report on the 30th anniversary of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

CJFE board members Paula Todd, and Alice Klein will be joining journalists and scholars from across the country to discuss the current state of press freedom in Canada.

CJFE will also have a display at the event, and will be available to provide more information on the organization.

What:
Ryerson’s Journalism Research Centre and Law Research Centre present a two-day interdisciplinary conference on the state of press freedom 30 years after the introduction of the Charter. Join us in March 2012 as leading journalists, lawyers and academics explore the trends and thinking that can tear down and build up press freedom.

Cost:
Day 1 - $85 + HST ($96.05) for non-Ryerson affiliates
FREE for Ryerson Faculty, Staff and Students (lunch NOT incl.)

Day 2 - $50 + HST ($56.50) for non-Ryerson affiliates
FREE for Ryerson Faculty, Staff and Students

Days 1 & 2 - $120 + HST ($135.60) for non-Ryerson affiliates
FREE for Ryerson Faculty, Staff and Students (Day 1 lunch NOT incl.)

To Ryerson faculty, staff and students: This event is free with the exception of lunch on Day 1. Day 1 lunch tickets ($15 for students; $25 for faculty/staff) will be available for sale on campus, starting February 27th.
