Restrictions and intimidation of journalists in Libya
Originally peaceful anti-government protests in Libya turned violent as government forces clashed with protesters. As of February 22, over 200 deaths had been reported. Since the beginning of the protests, both foreign and local media have been faced with restrictions on their movement into and around Libya. Local journalists have also been harassed and detained by government forces.
