Today the much-anticipated verdict in the Bradley Manning trial was announced. Manning was found not guilty of the most severe charge that he faced, "aiding the enemy." However, he was found guilty of 19 other charges.
Sunday, July 28, marked exactly two months since the protests in Turkey began. CJFE joined six other organizations to stand in support of free expression and free assembly, and honour those who have died in the protests.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held a debate on the protection of journalists working in conflict zones. The discussion featured UNSC member states and noted members of the press, and highlighted the challenges in providing protection for press working in areas of war and conflict.
