About the film
Point and Shoot follows Matthew VanDyke, a young man from Baltimore with obsessive-compulsive disorder who embarked on a solitary motorcycle trek across North Africa and the Middle East in 2007. While VanDyke dreamed of making an adventure film, he instead found himself joining forces with anti-Gadhafi rebels in the Libyan Desert. He was soon captured and placed in solitary confinement for six months. Oscar-nominated director Marshall Curry tells a fascinating story about a journey that began as a “crash course in manhood” but evolved into a struggle for political revolution and personal transformation.
