According to reports, Howe was detained by the RCMP on Thursday, July 4, 2013, while covering anti-fracking protests at the Elsipogtog First Nation’s territory in New Brunswick. Howe was released later in the day, although it appears that he still faces charges of threats and obstruction of justice. CJFE will continue to monitor this case for new developments.
